FL and TX should be careful of what they wish for.

The reason why people are moving out of CA and FL is because they got priced out.   But, TX property tax is 2%+, one of the highest in the country, and FL home insurance has gone through the roof even as home values have also been going up.

Long timers in FL are moving out of the more expensive counties in FL because they can no longer afford to live there.

Then you have guys like this, who live in no income tax state MT, but the property tax has gone through the roof, such that this 68 yr old man has to go back to work just to afford to live in the house he bought in 1995.
