It took a lot longer for the moon to cover most of the sun, but it did get noticeably cooler at peak coverage. If schools had taken kids outside for this, they would have been waiting a long time for the full experience. I just popped outside every 15 minutes to check on the progress, but it took a good 1 1/2 hrs. Still fun, but nothing like experiencing totality.[/quote]
