This is a false take. Trump abused a law that he used to justify closing the border, The courts overturned the law, leaving Biden without the same toolkit. Either you want Joe to act as an authoritarian to "close the border" or else you need to get the GOP to pass the legislation that gives him those tools. I don't think we want an authoritarian, so that leaves one option, that Trump (and presumably you) oppose. Ergo, I cannot take this issue seriously, because it clearly isn't the crisis the right makes it out to be.[/quote]

Especially when [i]the legislation was their legislation. [/i] From the scanty number of posts in some of the newer immigration scare threads, it seems fewer people want to pretend it’s a crisis. You can’t say “fixing this will give my opponent a win, so don’t” and then pretend it’s a crisis.

Republicans want chaos, not solutions. Biden and the Democrats present solutions, compromise, listening and most importantly: democracy.[/quote]
