The abortion Craig and I had 22 years ago allowed us the time to become sober - and then to create careers and a healthy family. Our abortion saved our lives.

Back when I was a fan there was this constant rewriting of dates and history. Does anyone else remember the story. I thought she got 100% sober because she was pregnant with her oldest son and she did not consider abortion and she just figured out things as she went along. (I am pro-choice by the way, but I am just really confused.)

Went down a rabbit hole. In this Oprah interview Oprah ironically calls Glennon a "truth teller" and says this:

"Glennon hit rock bottom 14 years ago—or so she thought. She was so hung over, she couldn’t pick herself up off the bathroom floor. Suspecting alcohol wasn’t the only reason for her nausea, she took a pregnancy test. It was positive. Only a few months earlier, she’d had an abortion. She was still seeing the same guy, Craig, though they hadn’t thought of the relationship as serious. But that day, Glennon felt something shift inside her. “What happens next,” she writes of that moment, “does not feel like a decision, but a discovery.... I will have this baby.” "

So, the abortion may be true, but she did not get clean, have a career and then start a family. She remained an addict, decided to have the baby and married the father with whom she was not serious.  And now I just wasted 15 minutes of my life I will never get back. [/quote]
