WASHINGTON ― U.S. President Donald Trump will seek at least another $250 million in security aid for Ukraine in his 2020 budget request to Congress, including lethal Javelin anti-tank weapons, according to a senior Pentagon official.
“Assuming of course the Congress authorizes and appropriates it, we will continue that. We do envision continuing lethal aid assistance to Ukraine," Under Secretary of Defense for Policy John Rood said Wednesday at a roundtable with reporters.

A $39 million sale of 150 anti-tank missiles and two additional missile launchers is pending, on top of the 200 missiles and 37 launchers the U.S. sold Kyiv in 2018, Bloomberg and others reported last month.

As Obama sat on his hands, refusing to sell needed weapons and arms to Ukraine, to help them fight Russian invaders.

As the Ukrainian military gains experience, that is less of a concern, Wolters said.

U.S. and NATO training efforts over the last few years “allow us to have comfort that with an additional Javelin comes enough soldiers with the ability to embrace that capability, absorb it, and productively use it,” Wolters said, noting that his military advice would be to provide additional Javelins to Ukraine.

1. Did the pro-Russian separatists have tanks? Javelin is for tank only. $78 k per shot. If Russian separatists didn’t have tanks, Ukrainians were not allowed to use them on non tank warfare.

2. We didn’t want russians to get ahold of a Javelin. It is great technology. Javelin is used for defense against only- not offense. Javelin was stored away from the front lines until training was completed.

2. Americans had to go to Ukraine and train Ukrainians to use the Javelin competently. It’s not like picking up a Nerf gun and inserting foam bullets and pointing and shooting.

3. Ukrainians were  overjoyed to have Javelins, and Trump sold them Javelins. Obama refused.

4. Once Ukrainians became competent in sufficient number on the care and use of the Javelin, they were used by Ukrainians against the Russian tanks with great success. Tanks fear Javelins.
