Yes, I think it is going to turn out to be a literal zombie like plot. The girl got murdered in the video on her phone. She was in the mine, so the miners may have been digging up the ancient bacteria that the scientists discovered. They went nuts and murdered her.

Also same old staid plot as Last of Us - a pathogen like the fungi can mind control its host.  That's actually true of biology in real life.[/quote]
