You never stop when you are already driving in the roundabout. Someone is going to crash into you if you do that. Roundabout driving is dependent on predictable behavior - those inside the roundabout have the right of way. Which means you continue driving and don't slam on the breaks. Those trying to enter the roundabout are waiting for you to pass them. Sure they may be impatiently creeping on the stop line, but they are just waiting for you to pass so they can enter.
