She is a malignant narcissist
He's a narcissist too, maybe not malignant, meaning perhaps not nearly as interpersonally aggressive. (Though I think he attempts to hide his aggression behind that plastered, smile). They are the classic borderline/narc couple, books are written about this bond. It's not good, but they cannot let go, they overlap in complicated, dark ways and meet each others needs in some ways. A note...there's a scientology history here with these two (that they deny). And that always makes things particularly f'd up and deceitful. They're not honest people.
+1 Will Smith isn't some innocent party here. He's a shark who elbowed people out of the way to get top billing and f**ked over many, many people to get where he is. It's incredibly naive to think that Will Smith's success came from talent alone. Seriously? Drama schools are overflowing with talent. If you were to see some drama school students who work hard but have no fame, you'd be a bit awestruck at how good they are at acting, how many versatile stage and film skills they've developed. I know many people who tried to get into the industry; it's NOT just talent. Family/friend connections, grift, and escorting/casting couch are common ways to get in. And if you're not a big star or you don't have rich parents, you'll likely do sex work in between endless auditions to pay your rent. This DOES happen, I've heard about it personally. So it's not just talent. I know amazing actors who work very, very hard and don't make it to the big leagues. Will Smith had to have screwed people over to get to the A-list because frankly, I think most A-listers do that. I don't particularly feel sorry for him. My actor friends would've done so much with Will Smith's opportunities, and they wouldn't have been braying like donkeys about their private relationships. He's a disgrace as much as Jada is.
+1
I don’t know about that. It’s not hard to see how he became famous. He’s good-looking, talented (in music, acting, and comedy), and famously charismatic. IMO, he is legitimately a mostly self-made success. He and Jazzy Jeff had already built up a local buzz in the Philly area through live performances at parties when they got a big record deal. They had a couple of national hit songs years before Fresh Prince came out.
