I have recently really gotten into native gardening - and I love it. I’m slowly but surely replacing much of my lawn with native species, and love how it looks and feel good about the wildlife benefits.

But I have to agree with this poster. We have a “Certified Wildlife Habitat” yard in our neighborhood and it’s a sh¡tshow. I’d prob be pissed if I was their neighbor. God knows what’s hiding in there. It’s literally a mini-forest. I’m pretty sure there is zero property maintenance happening.

If you go to the Maryland DNR website it says you can’t ignore local or county laws with your habitat. It needs to be maintained, not just overgrown. [/quote]
