Most people support abortion to a certain point in time. Stop wasting time complaining about the court. Congress need to pass a reasonable law and end the fight.
The problem is that most Democrats believe in no restrictions. That is unreasonable. It is extreme. Just look at the bill that passed in Pelosi's House. No restrictions.
It’s not extreme to trust healthcare providers and women to make the best choices for their healthcare.
The key word in your post is "their," though I'm sure you meant it to refer to just women. However, one of the fundamental arguments that Conservatives make is that once a woman is pregnant, there are two lives at issue. By contrast, Progressives fundamentally believe that there is still only one life - the woman's - until the child is actually born. It's difficult to reconcile these positions on absolute basis, so many Independents believe that there should be reasonable limits on abortion, often expressed by the number of weeks into a pregnancy. Ostensibly, this is intended to allow women to make the "best choices for their healthcare" within that time period. This is, in fact, the position that many countries around the world have taken, thus there is room to compromise.
A voice of reason and what I believe the vast majority of people agree with also.
I used to believe that, but thanks to these extreme laws, I now understand that there are too many unforeseen risks with pregnancy. We can’t tie the hands of healthcare providers when determining care for pregnant women. I understand now that the Hippocratic oath is sufficient.
