DH works at a university hospital and there was a strong push to accept black residents. They were forced to pick out of a limited pool of qualified black applicants and the guy is awful. They never would have picked the guy if they were not told that they had to hire a black person. It isn’t good for the minority, not good for the program or hospital and not good for patients. The guy makes a lot of mistakes. His scores were lower than anyone they have ever accepted. They can’t fire him. It is a mess.[/quote]

Asian American here. If Harvard wants to make 50% of their class black, I am totally fine with that. If my child doesn’t get hired at a company because he is Asian, also fine. That school and company is probably the wrong fit. Let the schools and companies perform with the people they think are right for their them. [/quote]
