What studies? Another study is sayingthe opposite
MCPS never did their study because removing SROs was a done deal. But the studies that they looked at showed students felt safer with SROs. https://www.boarddocs.com/mabe/mcpsmd/Board.nsf/files/C2S2RR727C3F/$file/SRO%20Program%20210511.pdf The study also showed that SROs lead to increase criminal arrests and higher reporting of crimes, which shows that SRO presence does catch more criminal behavior. It's not like having an SRO leads kids to commit more crimes. More likely, it increases reporting. Progressive liberals would rather follow the strategy of "if you don't report then the numbers are lower", like how red states were with covid deaths. MCPS doesn't want to report fights, drug use, particularly among certain groups because it would make the numbers for equity look bad.
