A lot of the equity impetus comes from the teacher unions who are pushing equity because without standardized tests, and with equity grading it is hard to show which kids have learned and which haven't and so it's harder to hold teachers and teacher unions accountable. But it's swinging too far in the opposite direction and unless this is nipped in the bud kids coming out of large public school systems will learn nothing but political ideology. [/quote]
