Didn’t OPs boss say it was fine that she missed the meeting and was understanding that she didn’t see the invite? If OP doesn’t want to check her email after hours then that’s fine, and she may miss a meeting every once in awhile, which is likely fine. But to have the expectation that everyone else in her organization is not going to do work after hours because it could upset people that don’t check emails after hours is absurd. It sounds like from OP that the people who actually needed to be on the call were on the call.
OP here. No — most of them missed it. Then the boss had to hold a mid-morning call to fill them in on what they needed to do.
Even better. If everyone else missed the call too then it really sounds like it’s a no harm no foul situation. It’s clearly the company culture not to check emails after hours where you work. Keep calm and carry on as they say.
The issue is in my case my boss sends emails for requests after hours maybe 1-2 a week. He cc”s 2-3 staff. Of course first staff who responds he knows who is working. He actually has a wife who is a nurse and has kids in day care. So some nights he has to leave work early around 5pm then get kids, get dinner on the. With wife home he goes back on line By then his boss CEO, Board, says someone high up could need something. The clock is ticking. Someone off line 16 hours a day really delays things. Most of time if I get it first it is like I forward it on to get info at 6 or 7pm I get online in morning around 6am and forward in answer. This is rare.
