I live in Moco, and this is true but misleading because the commute from Arlington is faster to most of the parts of DC where people work. With that said, Moco schools are way better. Yorktown (which is supposedly Arlington's best HS and serves a very affluent population) can't compete with BCC, Whitman, etc., and is more comparable across many metrics to high schools in Moco that serve primarily low income populations.[/quote] By what metrics please…cite some. NAEP scores? PISA? SAT? Not US News list from reporters that likely can’t afford Arlington..You may have said this some years back but not in 2022 and certainly not after MCPS’ response to the pandemic.
