This.  We own a beach house in DE and are there most summer weekends, about once a month in the off-season.  We love it and it definitely feels like a vacation, with no real maintenance that we deal with (we call someone if we need to) and time on the beach and at our pool.  We also have house cleaners at both houses. We feel like we are really away from our normal, everyday life there, and it’s a huge draw for our young adult kids (which means lots of family time).  I think we like our DE home better than our primary home, tbh.  We also have been to Europe both in Siri g and summer this year, and had a couple of long weekend trips to other places.

I think the people who say they wouldn’t want a vacation home can’t really afford it, because all of the issues they raise are pretty non-existent.[/quote]
