I was a big surprise. DNA tests are kind of ranked by how much DNA you share, and it was clear I was no distant relative. They shared the news among the cousins and and an aunt. Word got to the person who helped my mom and loaned her the money for the unwed mother's prison, I mean home. That's where I got the letters. The person -- I am lucky she is still alive -- always wondered if I'd come looking, especially once she saw all the DNA testing services in the news.[/quote]
