Only on DCUM will travelling for work be a foreign concept. Let her do her job, y'all can focus on more pressing matters.
She is not doing her job if she is traveling.
Keep making up your own fantasies. She's still connected to her laptop and work phone.
You are making up fantasies if you think she was actually working via a laptop and work phone. She was on vacation. What exactly came out of that trip/visit? Please, share with us.
Let me guess you can't stand that an AA woman is in charge of MCPS?
Bingo
What was accomplished during the trip that could not have been done over the phone?
That can be said for all business travel, but people still feel it's important. Anyway, sounds like you have a beef with Dr. McKnight and are just looking for nits to pick.
Most business travel is unnecessary and many companies have significantly cut back except MCPS. I don't have any beef with Dr. McKnight. I couldn't care less who runs MCPS but I do care about the wasteful spending when our kids are going without because they claim there is no money.
Your posts sure make it seem otherwise. :(
I would have an issue with any administrator doing this regardless of race. You can play the race game but it’s not about race but what is a good use of mcps money, taxpayer money and what it accomplished. You have yet to say what it accomplished.
Different poster, but no one here knows if this accomplished anything or not. Its an assumption either way unless you get a debrief from Dr. McKnight of possibly Central Office. The question that should be asked is why are people assuming ill will about Dr. MCKnight and this trip or this portion her trip with no evidence. I agree with the posters who are supporting McKnight because I honestly don’t get the hate folks have for her. She obviously trying to engage with the district community, she has a Strategic plan, is improving communication, working to get kids caught up, and working with all parties on the benchmark curroculum. Like what really do folks want from her.
Back to the topic, how did this trip/college visit benefit MCPS. Actually, she isn't trying to engage with the district community. She's holding public meetings, unmasked in large groups. That might be ok for your family, but not ours. She's done nothing to engage the community we are in, in terms of schooling. The only positive thing I see she is doing is bring back the police/security to the schools.
Really? I get emails from her constantly about community engagement. I'm not keen about turning schools into prisons. However, it seems like you just have it out for Dr. McKnight. Makes me wonder if you were poster calling her Monifa a week ago?
I know! This poster obsessed with Dr. McKnight and I'm beginning to think they have issues with an AA woman running things too.
Enlighten us, what did she accomplish on that trip?
So, basically you are confirming this was not a legit trip on tax payer money. Our kids go without basic things while she’s living it up.
You're assumption is this trip wasn't legit because she visited a HBCU? This fails any reasonable burden of proof and seems racist.
They just keep casting these aspersations with no evidence hoping that if they just say it enough it will stick. They seem obsessed with Dr. McKngiht.
Your screaming racism because someone doesn't agree with you is absurd. You fail to see the issue that she traveled to her home town where her family is on tax payer money to have a few minute meeting with the head of the school. She didn't meet with students or anyone else per the photograph. It is also offensive she is traveling and being unmasked regardless of who she is when she should be setting a good example during covid. There are plenty of local HBCU that have much larger teacher programs that would make far more sense to visit. There are also plenty of other colleges with large teacher programs locally. How many teachers do you think she actually recruited. Given the distance, its not like she's getting student volunteers to work in the school... this was a personal trip on tax payer money. If you cannot see that as an issue and all you can do is scream racism, maybe you should look at yourself.
If you have convinced yourself that a photograph of Dr. McKnight meeting with a university president proves that "she didn't meet with students or anyone else," then you are so far gone there's no point in arguing with you.
Can you say anything of substance or will you just deflect?
