From what I could tell the parents sled that instead of arbitrarily closing school because of a few positives to instead require testing to return. The principal rebuffed that request and instead shut it all down. Ridiculous. They don’t have vaccine staff (or student) mandates [b](so not surprised an older staff member died of COVID at another school,[/b] though still tragic to be sure) so instead put the burden of closed schools in children. The principal also said that he can’t the closing may go longer than just a week. St Ann continues to take[b] ridiculous measures that don’t matter and hurt kids [/b](closed schools, [b]outdoor masking[/b]) and refuse to do any that may may staff upset (vaccine mandate, testing (costs $ that come from other parts of budget)). I love the logic here. "We have a few positives now, and[i] if we have too many positives we may have to shut down[/i]. So to avoid having so many positives we have to shut down, we're going to shut down right now. Shutting down and going virtual are 2 different things.

Ask the kids who got word today "APS is closed due to snow. Instead of a snow day, you have virtual learning. See you at 8:00".

Also the way a teacher died (and I noticed how you called them old) nearby, and my potentially unvaccinated and certainly not boosted kid has been told to wear a mask while playing contact sports are given the [u]same emphasis[/u] is why there needs to be an alternative plan.
