Watched the briefing. Monifa seems stressed. Her voice had that weird high pitch it gets when she is tense. She is tense for good reason. She has NO control over the situation...schools are going to shutter right before our eyes. MCEA is destroying our children and their education. Hoping to get an acceptance to one of the privates we applied to for next year!
WTF???? And it’s Dr. McKnight. God, DCUM makes me lose brain cells sometimes. Is this an adult forum or a first grade classroom - oh wait, first graders are even more mature.
She doesn’t have an M.D. or PhD.
True!!
FALSE - Dr. McKnight has a PhD from University of Maryland College Park. https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/superintendent/bio.aspx
Before you try to fact check someone else, you should make sure you get your own facts straight. She does not have a PhD.
She does have a doctoral degree. There is no rule that only MDs and PhDs get referred to as "Dr." That's a made up thing by the right wing to justify you misogyny.
There are no "rules" on this, period. If you've gone to a physical therapist in the last few years, they probably had a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Did you call them "Doctor"? The same applies to occupational therapists with a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. Obviously, there's no rule that says you can't, but I've never seen that done
There is a rule of basic courtesy that you call people by the titles they ask you to use, especially in educational settings. You wanna ignore basic courtesy, go ahead. It makes you seem rude and classless, and therefore pepe don't care what you have to say.
Has Acting Superintendent McKnight asked people to address her as Doctor? That’s different from using it herself. Although, I disagree that is even basic courtesy. You didn’t answer my question from the previous post. If your Physical Therapist used the title “Dr.” and asked you to use it too, would you think that was appropriate? Or would you think that is a misuse of the term?
