[/quote] I've posted this here and in social media - my proposal is you have 13 justices - one for each circuit, BUT no life terms, etc. - it's revolving. Terms of 15-18 years max with 75 as the maximum age. No Presidential appointments to the Supreme Court - the justices come up from their appellate district by seniority, period. The idea that many of the justices hold about their legacies or the Supreme Court as an "institution" is wildly out of proportion to what this branch of government should be. Breyer was openly testy about the Court being viewed as partisan during arguments yesterday. All while he's stubbornly refusing to retire to prove some point. We have allowed the Court to become something it was never intended to be.[/quote]
