Teachers have to be the most entitled people in D.C. It is really something.
+1
Nah, that's white DC moms.
Yep, entitled for expecting to have public schools that exist IRL. Just like in every non-failed-state around the world. Aside: is it really helpful to type out divisive comments like this?
Did you see what the person was responding to?
I did. No excuse for this racist response.
Hi. You can't cry racism when the comment is about the dominant group (white people). Prejudice? Sure. Discrimination? Absolutely. Racism--NOPE. There is no socialized power structure that is a disadvantage to white people.
That’s a pretty sad excuse for a rude and demeaning comment. Maybe you could benefit from some anti-bias training on Wednesday afternoons.
If you’d been to any anti-bias/anti-racism training at all, you’d know that “reverse racism” (aka racism against white people) doesn’t exist. It’s one of the first things they teach you. Racism benefits white people, whether they choose to acknowledge that is up to them. Racial prejudice against white people exists but it is not racism because it exists in the absence of a socialized power structure that results in oppression of the whole group. #facts
Truth. But good luck convincing the white people who insist they are a victim. If you say anything that doesn't market them all as individuals it's racism. Even though there are some things you cannot opt out of. Like capitalism.
All of these conversations inevitably sound like they are being lifted verbatim from an episode of The Office.
