I am the teacher who posted above and yes this is.  My two cents, for what little they are worth, is that we don’t need half day Wednesdays and schools would be left to fend for themselves in terms of planning for those half days.

I also think that while this might benefit elementary school students, a large portion of high schoolers will not come to school on Wednesdays at all.  So DC would essentially be losing 20% of instruction for the year at the HS level. [/quote]

Instead of having outside agencies come in we need the police to come and do a version of the old D.A.R.E program. This would actually solve a lot of problems that we are currently seeing with our youth. Educate them on the the horrors of drugs and a life of crime. Maybe we can get Bowser to dress as McGruff the crime dog and really sock it to these kids.  What we are currently doing isn’t working as crime is increasing. Let’s try the old school way. [/quote]
