you are not making an apples to apples comparison.  You have to recognize that teachers works a shorter 'contract' day than most professions and work substantially less days a year.  This is in response to the poster who was asserting that it was totally reasonable for a teacher to take the day off after spring break, and that a teacher should never be expected to work a minute past their contract hours.  If you approach teaching as a I only work my contract hours profession it is extremely well paid.[/quote]

And basically no teachers work contract hours only. Just because someone on here says it happens doesn’t mean it’s a widespread practice. [/quote]
