This is me. I have always had self-confidence in my intelligence and ability to speak well. I think I even overestimated my appearance for years because I felt good about myself so, I concluded, I must be fairly attractive.

It was only once I had a professional stumble and lost my confidence for a bit that I realized I'm not particularly pretty. It was not a great discovery. Since then, I've just had lower self-esteem overall and feel embarrassed about my appearance at times. I wish I could go back to the way I was before. I'd rather be deluded about my looks than feel like I don't measure up.[/quote]
