Hi DCUM Psychic, welcome back!  And congratulations on your child! :)  I am the OP of this post.  I did make the offer, and it was turned down!  So I still have my job, but the person whose job I was trying to save is leaving the company (but seems to be okay with it - I hope that is truly the case!).

Now I am thinking of just quitting my job altogether to reset - take time to engage with my family, help the kids with school, let our nanny go.  Do you have any reaction to that?  Thank you in advance for anything that comes to you that you can share.
