There's a middle ground. Recline but only partially. Don't recline if the seat behind you can't recline for some reason, or during mealtimes.
No. The seat reclines. It's a feature. It's not the recliner's fault that the airline crams everyone in. If you don't want someone to recline in front of you, complain to the airline about their design or fly business. Not our fault that the airline made such a crappy design. I don't begrudge people who recline in front of me. I understand the constraints and I either have chosen to accept it or, if not, I fly business or take a train. Train and bus seats also recline and yet there is enough space not to interfere with the other passengers. Airlines need to do better and stop treating their customers like crap.
Right. Why use a modicum of common sense and decency when you can LOUDLY COMPLAIN and get reclining seats taken away from everyone? When children are fighting over a toy instead of sharing it, you take away the toy. Problem solved.
Bad analogy. This is a paid service. Airlines are taking customers for granted. Anyone remember flying in the 80s? You got meals or a snack on most flights. You could recline comfortably. You could book any seat that you wanted for the same price (just first come, first served). And you didn't have to pay extra for checked bags. The companies are mismanaged, antiquated dinosaurs that pay CEOS bloated salaries. They treat us like crap because if we're all compliant sheep, they don't need to change. For the record, I fly business most times because I fam infuriated by the way economy class passengers are treated. I also try to airlines like JetBlue (or Virgin America when it existed) because they provided more comfort and better customer service. The current major carriers are engaged in a race to the bottom and trying to making us feel grateful for a bag of stale pretzel and 2 inch recline.
