I’ve heard parents lie (or intentionally mislead) and say their child received lots of money for sports at D2 and D3 schools. D3 doesn’t even have sports scholarships! And the aid avail at these poor LACs and regional publics is a joke. What these subpar schools do is have fake tuition costs of say $40,000 a year, but then everyone who applies gets $10,000 to $20,000 of “scholarships” in discount. Like a discount retailer running a perpetual 50% sale. [/quote]
