I'm 5'9 and 129 pounds. My goal weight is 125, though I look better at 120 (but I recognize that's not a healthy weight so I am not going to fight for it). I am extremely small boned and was 110 in college, 115 in my 20's. Never had an eating disorder and ate whatever I wanted, never exercised. When I gain weight it doesn't distribute evenly - I gain it all in my stomach and face. I started gaining weight in my mid 30's, and it's been a struggle keeping control of it. I wear a size 4. 40 years old.
I bet you look sickly at that weight at 40. I'm also 5"9" and quite frankly looked like I had an eating disorder when I was 20 and 120#s. I was desparate to gain weight. Guaranteed you have mental illness. Best of luck to you.
This is total BS ( I am not a pp). I am 5"2 and 120 lb, and I carry too much fat. Yes, I have muscles, my abs, back arms have definition, but I still easily lose 5lb. Everything depends on your body and bone structure, so 5'9 at 120 can be healthy if she has very narrow bones. Diagnosing someone remotely s a mental disorder.
NP. The whole big boned versus narrow boned is mostly a myth. 120 at 5'9 is low and 120 at 5 2 does not mean you are carrying a ton of fat. You both sound incredibly disordered.
It’s specific to race. Asians are considered obese at a lower body weight than whites and blacks (this is also obvious just by looking at us). We generally tend to have slighter builds, not as broad as the other two groups. There’s been tons of studies done which show that we hold a higher body fat % so really we should be thinner on average. I’m 5’7 and 130lbs and definitely have a big stomach with flabby arms even though I strength train and eat well. My ideal weight is probably 115.
