As far as the safety and racism accusations on this thread, you do realize this year's shooting didn't involve any Asian or White kids, right?  Wasn't the mother of the kid shot even one of the parents complaining last year about racism at the school?

I think that MCPS is breaking up the state's #3 top academic school, but if they want to do that and drag down MCPS' reputation nationally, it's on them.  MCPS is already becoming more of a "babysitting school" than a serious academic institution since the parents who can afford tutoring are keeping the scores afloat.

Don't believe?  Guess what.  This is the Public School model at most major inner cities.

There will be a tipping point where parents (i.e. taxpayers) get fed up with paying high taxes for mediocre services.  Once cuts start, MCPS can say goodbye to their Marie Antoinette attitude towards parents.[/quote]
