Just so DCUMers know, the people you love to vilify were some of the first boots on the ground after the tragic Texas flood. The U.S. Border Patrol Search, Trauma, and Rescue Unit (BORSTAR), which is part of their Special Operations Group (SOG), flew in to help with the rescue and recovery of victims. As the caption on their Instagram post says, "Relentless, because every life matters." https://www.instagram.com/p/DLy0rBfsHcY/?igsh=cmJnMnYwNXcwa2Rt Here's some background on BORSTAR. https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/documents/Border%20Patrol%20Search%2C%20Trauma%2C%20and%20Rescue.pdf
34% of the people these fine officers are detaining are not criminals at all. Some of them are even US born citizens. Maybe if they took more care to actually get warrants on the actual bad guys, rather than sweeping up people at courthouses and Home Depot's, they would gain more sympathy and support. As it is, they are no better than the Gestapo.
The bolded is BS. And, if they are present illegally, they are open to deportation. That is the law.
There have been several documented instances of ICE harassing and detaining US citizens. Step outside your house without your wallet and ID and you tooould be disappeared to South Sudan, if your skin is the wrong color. Sorry but the stories and proof is out there and can not be denied or shrugged off as “BS” by some MAGA in denial.
You are so FOS. Why are you so damned opposed to detaining and deporting or imprisoning criminal illegal migrants? And, your effort to scare people of color - particularly legal immigrants - is not working. You folks are on the totally wrong side of this issue..... https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-immigration-immigrant-voters-2084425 Immigrants Are Embracing Trump's Crackdown on Immigration New data shows a growing number of immigrant voters are backing Donald Trump and his hardline immigration agenda—marking a dramatic reversal from past elections. According to an analysis of the American National Election Studies (ANES) by CNN's Harry Enten, immigrant voters, who favored Democrats by 32 points on immigration policy in 2020, now trust Republicans more on the issue by 8 points—a staggering 40-point swing. Trump's share of the immigrant vote has steadily increased—from 36 percent in 2016 to 39 percent in 2020 and now to 47 percent in 2024, based on Cooperative Election Study (CES) data analyzed by Enten. Perhaps even more telling is how immigrant voters feel about immigrants who are in the country illegally. In 2020, their net favorability stood at +23 points. This year that has flipped to -6—a 29-point decline in support for undocumented immigrants among immigrants themselves. Enten did not specify which demographics were included in his aggregate.
This is where your argument fails. Democrats are not opposed to deporting people who shouldn't be here. In fact, Obama and Biden deported at a higher rate than Trump did. The problem right now is that ICE is capturing people off the streets and without due process, shipping them off to foreign gulags. Trump said there were millions of criminals in the US illegally. Fine, go get them and deport them. Snatching people off the streets are who are going through the process legally, or who are green card holder or who are otherwise not criminals is simply cruel. But the cruelty is the point, right?
This is where I call bullshit. Thanks to the sanctuary cities and states in Democratically-run areas, some of these predators have been free to walk the streets and prey on US citizens. Many of these criminals have committed crimes in the cities in which they are seeking refuge and are simply released again and again. So, your argument fails spectacularly.
The per capita crime rate in red areas is significantly higher than in blue areas. Fact. Also fact, immigrants, legal or otherwise, commit crimes at a much lower rate than natural born Americans. So while there are anecdotal cases of bad people here illegally doing bad things, on net, your assertion is false. So YOUR argument fails even more spectacularly.
That’a not what the Rockville, MD in MoCo sees or cites at all. Go hang out in the courthouse and see for yourself PP. See who the defendants are. And again, bring your translator.
The court rooms are packed with Hispanics because that’s who cops target. Growing up in Rockville, I was ticketed for minor infractions (like driving 5 miles over the speed limit or driving with recently expired tags that were lost in the mail). My white friends were shocked that I was ticketed instead of just getting a warning. When I went to court I wasn’t surprised that most of the defendants were people of color. Those are the folks that cops target.
