If I had to guess, reading between the lines it does seem like Ben has relapsed. Jen Garner is around, trying to get him back on the wagon. Jen Lopez is around, and the our hero is to remind him of his good qualities as a father.

Bolster him up by leaking stories to the press and trying to reunite with him? He needs to be  permanently single for his own health but I think they fear he may drink himself to death if he lives alone.

That’s why Garner, Lopez, and Bens mom are always at his house checking on him. I think Garner may be thinking Ben needs to live with his kids again in order to gain his sobriety back . That was what inspired him to quit drinking in the first place. There’s only but a few years left where he can live with them full time. Violet is already 18.

The idea of bringing drunk dad home to dry out by being in close proximity to the kids' presence is effed up. If he's teetering at the edge, he beeds to take himself to a rehab clinic. Period.[/quote]
