Buckle up Buttercups, this is going to be a long one. I have some bones to pick! This is about soccer. So let's get this straight. Just want to tell you that every single GA Club is behind all of the ECNL clubs in the entire DMV. All of the ECNL Clubs would finish 1st in the division if they joined Mid Atlantic South GA. ECNL isn't going away overnight like some of you think. Not even multiple nights. As long as ECNL takes the majority of D1 commits, it will always be that way. Arlington moving back to GA would not be by choice but forced because of the boys. No way would they choose GA over ECNL. Moving on to the NVA/Loudoun/VRSC/StJ disgruntled parents and Champions Cup. The nasty parents posting nasty things here are only from these clubs or perhaps new to GA Clubs. VRSC got Champions Cup for one reason and one reason only. They finished better than any other EXISTING GA Club in the division last year including the where the North Carolina Clubs finished the previous year in a different division. That is the long and the short of it. No conspiracies, just the rules. You don't see SYC, Skyline or StJ parents complaining because they already understand this. There are six existing GA teams in the division which makes sense why only one was chosen instead of two. New GA teams are not eligible and never have been. Do better. Speaking of Champions Cup and leaving the atrocious politics of VRSC, Loudoun and NVA out of it. VRSC especially but we will just keep it to soccer. VRSC is currently second in Champions Cup standings only to CISC. That's a fact...currently but could change. Regardless, they still stand second. Let me be clear...as a whole...THIS MEANS VRSC IS OUT PERFORMING EVERY OTHER GA CLUB IN NOVA CURRENTLY AS A WHOLE. I see a point brought up about VRSC not playing NVA or SYC twice. Here is the problem with that strawman argument...VRSC did play CISC twice who is the top club in the division and it isn't even close. So, would you rather play the best Club twice or would you rather play the 3rd place Club twice? Oh, and btw, VRSC also got CDA twice who sits in 4th. NVA is behind them. Point is, that it is all a wash and that argument is weak at best. Again, no conspiracy in this one. Do better! The performance by VRSC in Cali was awful. Remember though, they are still 2nd in the division and doing better as a whole than you. Why are many of you so entitled to think you do better? I don't get it. Sure, the U19 NVA team may have got a win but some of the other age groups would have lost by double digits. Also, as I mentioned, new GA teams are not eligible so that is null. So if SYC went, sure, some of the younger teams might have done better but also others may have lost by double digits. I don't really have any issues with SYC as I don't think they are here posting often. Still, many of you are really splitting hairs and not seeing the whole picture. IF your club was that much better, you would see it in the standings. Do better. To tack on to the above, if VRSC is performing better currently, than it is a result of either the coaching or skill level of the players. Or both. But you cannot deny they are outperforming your Club. At the same time, thanks to the poor decisions of management and coaches outside of soccer, some families will leave. VRSC will likely see a set back of next year. Will be interesting to watch how management adjusts to correct the mistakes and current problems. May take years. Do better. On to the next. NVA and Loudoun PPs. So you guys are throwing shade like no other yet being outperformed by VRSC, Mclean, and SYC. As the saying goes, you don't really have a pot to pee in or a leg to stand on with your record. NVA - You lost an entire team to ECNL. Your top younger players will flock to VDA or Union when offered. Your top team is graduating this year. That means you have to replace that team with another 1st place team next season to even be relevant for Champions Cup. Somebody recently posted that you don't even want VRSC players but from outside the box, you need every single VRSC player you can get. Loudoun - I mean, your below VRSC, Mclean, SYC, NVA, and maybe even Skyline. Meanwhile Alexandria wants all the smoke from everyone. Good for them, I hope they succeed...maybe worry more about NVA than anyone else? Is Do better. I don't think I need to get into the politics. Results are results and why sports are played with the end goal of winning. Doing it withing the rules. The politics of VRSC or any other club acting in the manner we have seen VRSC play out this year will have an impact. You do crappy things, families will leave and your results will suffer. You do crappy things, parents will voice their opinions on platforms like this. Don't do crappy things. Do better.
