Using cruise control is so dangerous in this area! If you're on an empty road, sure. But it's not meant for the kind of numbers on DC area highways. You need to be able to constantly adjust to the ebb and flow.

That is what adaptive cruise control does, brainiac.  It automatically adjusts speed downward when people in front slow down and speeds up when traffic moves faster.  And it maintains a constant distance between you and the car in front.  It also hits the brakes!![/quote]
