I don’t see how saying nothing at this point leads someone to believe it will stay the same? The only time the leagues need to say anything about the registration cutoff is before tryouts, and that’s a long way away. I can see MLSN and GA slow playing it to keep people on board as long as possible. But if you believe the change to SY will be a better fit for your DD or DS, then you better be looking at those leagues and teams this fall and spring.
Your logic makes no sense. MLSN GA have all current BY rules defined. You seem to think that if a competitor makes a change that they have to respond? Again, MLSN GA have all current BY rules defined.
They wouldn't be responding to a competitor, they are going to have to respond to a supplier. The supplier provides mostly Aug-Dec players but MLSN/GA under BY would need Jan-May players. They will kick and scream but ultimately have to adjust to supply chain issues to maintain revenues and go SY. This is a business.
I dont know if this is true. If MLSN and GA stayed BY what I can see happening is that one group would be BY which favors 1/1 to 4/1 birthdays and the other group would be SY which favors 8/1 to 12-1. Club tournaments would be either BY or SY based. If they stayed rigid on the rules BY tournaments would favor BY teams (SY would need to play older kids) and SY tournaments would favir SY teams (BY would need to play older kids)
