Does USYS matter? Yes, it has the most clubs, teams, players. Even most clubs that play US Club field teams in USYS leagues -- which are organized by state at the base level.

It's funny that the whole appeal of US Club/GA/MLSN was that it's ELITE, but now they are adding tiers to support their own eco-systems -- mostly from clubs that have historically been USYS. So, they are becoming more like the USYS. At the same time, the USYS -- which always had its own national level leagues BUT they were not been able to keep talent/attract scouts like the others can/have. Yet in some ways the USYS delivered better competition between teams because the core of its system was based on promotion/relegation until very recently when it started to copy the others with a club-based system as an offshoot (E64, now called Club Premier). So, at the end of the day, all the organizations are trying to copy each other.[/quote]
