NP - I support multigenerational living and we have several modified older houses for this purpose in our established older hood - the expanded homes look beautiful and I love the age diversity added. however, in this case, it seems so unbelievably inconsiderate to construct a massive 3 level add on that is a mere 8 feet from the property border running the entire length of the border. The modification sticks out like a giant red sore thumb. The news link that OP posted showed heavy shadowing of the adjacent neighbor. I would be upset also. In our hood, the home owners modifying their plans are required to post plans and respond to neighbors concerns.
You live somewhere with an HOA. This neighborhood doesn't have one. There are tradeoffs. These are small lots. It isn't like they could have built this in a different location.
Are you saying that because there’s no HOA, it’s okay to essentially screw the neighbors? Too bad, so sad, I want what I want and I do not care how it affects other people. Is the the gist of your argument here?
