Girl's soccer in the US at the ECNL/GA levels trends some middle class but UMC and just rich. The women have other options. Go to Duke and than a consulting form or investment bank or law school or med school? Much better options. There is no money in it except for a very few. It is not like the NBA where Jeremy Lin thought he would try a couple of years and put off med school. His minimum comp was 600k. If that were the option you would see more women be interested. Lin signed a contract that paid him a couple of million a year and then signed a contract that paid him 5 million a year. Sure take that chance. But it does not add up on the women's side.[/quote]
