+1 I'm fairly conservative and live in a southern state but voted for Harris with misgivings about the liberal policies of Democrats. I like her and can't stand Trump; but progressive policies on immigration, crime/criminals, freebies, and inflation do scare me. Clearly, many Americans share my fears but voted Trump.[/quote]

I’m a moderate Democrat who has been saying for months that the Democrats have gone far off the deep end. I really wanted Harris to win. I despise Trump. But the fact is that a lot of people voted against the Democrats and not for Trump. I don’t even think they disliked Harris so much as they disliked the general party and what it has become. +1  PP here. I think you're exactly right. I'm an older white southern woman who "connects" with Harris and feels sad that she's apparently going to lose. I'm also scared about the next 4 years with Trump's impulsivity and temperament. [/quote]
