Lots of types of people smoke in real life. In media, however, esp. American media, in our current timeframe, it’s typically shown as someone grittier: incarcerated, mafia, criminals, etc. Let’s see if we can come up with 100 people in American shows from 2021 or ‘22 (based on a present time period) where a main character who isn’t “gritty” smokes frequently.
