They weren't pushing Vance so much as the Left was pushing this idea that we needed to understand the brains of these deplorables who support Trump, and Trump was a Yale-approved expert who could translate from meth head to liberal. Of course no one actually read the book because it was stupid. Ron Howard capitalized on it, but the book was so bad that he had to rewrite the story for the movie. [/quote]
