They are the top 1 or 2 league for women in the world. MLS is maybe 10th at best. NWSL wants to attract the best players in the world. Not build a pipeline of us youth players. They just signed a collective bargaining agreement with the players that eliminated the draft and made everyone not under contract a free agent. They couldn’t do homegrown (violates the CBA) without changing the whole model they just agreed to pursue.[/quote]
