Here’s the deal regarding the blockade- Iran won’t even agree to peace talks until it’s removed. So I’m wondering if Trump is slowly backing it off without telling us so he can save face?
That makes sense because a blockade is an act of war which shouldn’t be in place during a ceasefire which is an attempt at peace. You don’t have to go to the War College to know this.
That's exactly why JFK carefully chose the word "quarantine" to describe the blockade of Cuba in '62. Trump is too stupid to understand that words have actual meaning.
Not really 1. The title card said "blockade" . 2. That blockade / quarantine was only for "offensive weapons" 3. "Resolution endorsed by Congress"
Title from a news clip? That's not what JFK said. And do you think this was a direct comparison between the two events? That Trump is JFK, the Soviets are Iran, and Cuba is Kharg Island? It was merely saying that calling something a quarantine is not the same as declaring war on another country, which apparently you don't even understand. Go back and read the two sentences you replied to and project a little more. From State.gov https://history.state.gov/milestones/1961-1968/cuban-missile-crisis The President decided upon a middle course. On October 22, he ordered a naval “quarantine” of Cuba. The use of “quarantine” legally distinguished this action from a blockade, which assumed a state of war existed; the use of “quarantine” instead of “blockade” also enabled the United States to receive the support of the Organization of American States.
