Meanwhile, the legislative branch continues to be paid to celebrate a dog’s birthday. And Trump is hosting lavish dinners for the rich. Let them eat cake! https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/ritzy-dinners-dogs-birthday-party-090000772.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAJ4YMYBaQeaO1FS98hz73jxEdp5RRz-JOSJJOulmAC2rG4raBm_5H3vftYwZrKb2fjYfzimKSL6CTeIPXLVXqZFGxcx88e-GCheg5ka-W2EBr-vzuHOzqOZ3cwy71yfkLELTUhSto6lVVVL8i8Y6cqVDXa4tr9_e1Zapdtcqaiv3 And so it has been for the power brokers in Washington during a government shutdown that appears to have no end in sight. While thousands of federal workers are furloughed — or fired — and trying to stay afloat without paychecks, the ones responsible for the shutdown are literally, and figuratively, eating cake
not correct. CONGRESS is being paid. The legislative branch consist of more than just Congress--thousands more employees than Congress members. I work for CRS we are furloughed. CBO, GAO, Architect of the Capitol are all shutdown and not being paid. Also, congressional staff are not being paid--just the members.
