I know the living in DC thing is your shtick, and I’m sorry you live with disproportionate crime, but you don’t seem to be accumulating comprehensive knowledge by osmosis. The “PSAs” where the NG are stationed most certainly have less MPD patrols than the typical staffing levels. Those officers have been freed up to patrol the problem “PSAs.” The NG is a force multiplier that can handle the lower crime tourist areas.[/quote]

Ffs. It is a US city not Baghdad. We don’t need “force multipliers” and we do NOT need military forces  circling peaceful city parks for hours on Sundays. There is only one reason to do that - a show of military force. I and my neighbors subjected to it are uniformly horrified- even the neighbors who in times past were the loudest voices on the listserv decrying crime rates. This is what we know - Trump is exploiting an actual problem to make himself into his wet dream of being Orange Duterte. [/quote]
