Backstory: OP lost her ring (probably down a drain while washing dish), didn't want to admit that it was her fault so used her cleaning lady as a scapegoat, created thread on DCUM about it as "proof" for her husband. Be more careful with your valuables and stop misplacing them. And ffs stop blaming the poor cleaning lady. At this point based on all the "evidence", I'd be more inclined to believe that you made the whole thing up for an insurance claim at your cleaners expense... if the ring was worth more than it's sentimental value.
This is laughable. If I had to create a DCUM thread to prove something like this to my husband, I have lost more than jewelry during the course of this marriage. What a joke.
Yes, but what isn't laughable is that you completely skirt the issue of whether you've apologized to your cleaning lady. You've been absolutely bratty about her, confirming over and over that she's the only possible person who could take it, you've talked with her and she's encouraged you to check your video footage which she thinks would show who stole it, and file a police report (neither of which is a suggestion of someone who was guilty), but you haven't apologized to your cleaning lady for being a classist ass by assuming it had to be the hired help because you, your mother, your sister, your children are all completely above reproach, but probably the most honest and hard-working person of the entire lot is not. If you can't swallow your pride to apologize to her, make sure you give her a big tip or a big holiday bonus this year to make up for impugning her honesty to save your own family face. And get on searching those video records. Sheesh, it's been 2 weeks and you haven't done it yet? Either this jewelry is real crap and only has sentimental value but not real value, or you are so jaded with your own wealth that you don't care if you've lost expensive jewelry. You didn't insure it and you aren't making any real effort to report it to the police or search your own video records to find it.
