They have a representative of Boosterthon come in daily to each class and basically shame the kids who haven't gotten donations. Then they hand out awards in front of all the other kids to the ones who are raising funds. Then he leaves with "If you want any of these prizes, you need to raise more money. Raise your hand if you are going to raise the most!!" So yes, it is a terrible process. Maryland PTA bylaws specifically says kids can not be used to fundraise and you can not use school time to fundraise but yet Boosterthon does both. [/quote]
