similar situation happened to me at a different place.  I stared him down, though. I will not be intimidated into changing anything I do in my day to day life.  This is my worry.  They leave oppressive countries and bring their crap here.  No thank you.[/quote]

The Starbucks in the Burlington Coat Factory shopping center in Bailey's Crossroads has been taken over by Middle Eastern men who monopolize the tables both inside and outside.   It is very uncomfortable even walking by them because of their nasty comments. [/quote]

I was just going to post about that!

I live across town and happened to be in the area shopping.  I walked over to that starbucks and their were lines of men sitting outside smoking. They all stopped talking and just stared or glared at me in silence. I walked into starbucks to order and the same thing happened. It was the creepiest, most uncomfortable and weirdest thing that has ever happened to me.

I kept thinking in my head "wtf was going on?!?" It felt like taking the wrong turn down a dark alley at night and walking into a bunch of gang bangers or meth heads in the middle of a drug deal.

It was a very negative experience. I was in shorts and a T and after going through that I can sympathize with why those women feel tye need to cover themselves head to toe. What a horrible life for these women to live if that is how the men in their world react to women.

I really feel for those women wrapped up head to toe in burkas.  It might be a choice to dress like that but it is clearly not a free choice.[/quote]

These are the higher SES Saudis, Jordanians, Turks, and Iraqis who can afford to live in the Tysons area. The Skyline high rise apartments and condos across the street from the Burlington Coat Factory Starbucks are loaded with low SES Eritreans (their hated kinsmen, the Ethiopians,  live along Columbia Pike into Arlington), Yemenis, Algerians, Somalis, and a few Nigerians.  Many are taxi drivers who have similar service jobs.  The Pakistanis are merchants and have 7-11s and similar stores while the Persians have the traditional rug stores and higher end service providers.  They are more westernized (even though their fellow Pakistanis and Persians in their home countries are not).

The mosque near Seven Corners draws these  lower SES people to the area and this is where the ISIS group breeds.[/quote]

.what are the schools in that area doing to westernize the children of these recent immigrants, particularly on the equality of women in US society?

Do social services make efforts to insure that these fsmilies are actually sending their daughters to school through high school to be educated, especially the families who follow the women must be fully covered including their faces and only go out with a man in tow line of thought?  How hard are the schools working to teach their SONS about equality and freedom of thought, person and religion for women?

If my experience at that starbucks is what is happening in that area near that mosque, everyone should be alarmed, including other muslims.

They are taking women's tights back to beyond the worst conditions ever seen in this country, back to another century from another part of the world.

Every liberal and feminist should be concerned.[/quote]
