I don't get all the Cameron hate this season. I still like her and think she's one of the only normal ones on the show. She has a happy marriage, has a job like an actual grown-up, and can generally cut through everyone's B.S. but still have affection for the more lovable ones like Shep. I completely understand why she doesn't want to be friends with Katherine. I agree it's rude not to talk to her because you say you don't know what to say. That was wrong. But in terms of not wanting to get together with her for coffee that was perfectly understandable. They were never friends and her past exposure to Katherine was watching her come to social events and make a scene every single time. This is a woman who screams obscenities at your friends in public at the top of her lungs every time you see her. Why would anyone want to get together with her in public? I feel sorry for Katherine, but I wouldn't be eager to go out with her either, especially if we had no prior friendship to fall back on in bad times. If your only experiences with someone are negative, why are you the bitch for not wanting to spend time with that person?
I think Craig called it. Cameron was the type to always root for the underdog, which is what Kathryn is this season. To see her play mean girl is not flattering and makes her seem less down to earth.
I might agree with this if Katherine was truly an underdog. If the others were excluding her because she was nerdy or didn't have money or something like that, she would be an underdog. If you're excluded because you've got a violent temper, are verbally abusive and embarrassing every time you're around then you're being excluded because you're a jerk and no one enjoys your company. That seems just plain rational to me. Only on reality tv where they need a storyline would this be considered an issue.
