Please cite the source that Indians pay more in US taxes than Americans.  I am grateful for a country full of immigrants but when you move to a country there is this world called assimilation.  You are no longer in India and part of that is that your national and religious holidays, no matter how important there, are not important enough here for businesses and schools to close down.  This country allows religious freedom but to say that every immigrant deserves their own national and religious holidays off in our schools is absurd.  My grandparents are from Italy and when they came here, they never asked for their kids to be off from school for Epiphany and it is one of our biggest holidays. [/quote]
